The Alabama Sports Writers Association have released their rankings for this week.

Week 5 -- Sep. 27, 2017
In Class 7A, the last time Jeff Davis was ranked as high as 8th was back in 2003. Wetumpka is ranked (#5) as high as they have been in any season since 2002.

Mae Jemison, the 5th place team in 5A has never been ranked this high in the shools short history. Lastly, St. Lukes is ranked 9th for the first time in their brief history.

Robby James has won nine AISA State Championships during his career at Catherine Academy, Morgan Academy and Marengo Academy.
