Consecutive 10 Win Seasons

Winning ten games in single season is a sure sign of success for any football program at the high school level. To accomplish this feat for several seasons in a row is a continuation of that success. A few teams have managed to win at least ten games a season over an extended period of time.

The school with the most consecutive ten win seasons may surprise more than just a few football fans. The Russellville Golden Tigers won at least ten football games for eleven consecutive seasons between 2000 and 2010. The Tigers, under the direction of head coaches Perry Swindall and Doug Goodwin, won 133 games during this span and played in five state championship games.

The Hazlewood Golden Bears put together a string of ten straight ten win seasons between 1987 and 1996. They actually won ten games every season except 1986 from 1981-1996. That is over a span of sixteen seasons. Pretty impressive. During that time the Golden Bears won eight state championships and played in a total of ten championship games. Their head coaches over this time were David Hogan, Jackie Ferguson and Rickey Johnson.

The Hoover Bucs are currently on a string of eight consecutive ten win seasons. Well, not exactly. On the field they have a streak that has reached fifteen seasons. But in 2007 the team was forced to forfeit four football games by the AHSAA for rules violations or they would easily own the longest streak of all time.

Tanner, Edgewood Academy and Monroe Academy will also enter the 2016 football season with streaks that have reached eight consecutive seasons.
