2016 ASWA Poll 




The Alabama Sports Writers Association have released their rankings for this week.

ASWA High School Football Poll
Week 3 -- Sep. 6, 2016

All the top ranked teams remain the same this week. Lafayette has reached #5 in the poll which is the highest they have been ranked in any poll since 1967. Scottsboro is ranked for the first time since the 2007 season.

Lastly, Thompson joins the polls at #9 in Class 7A. The last time they were in any poll was in 1989.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

The first night game played between high school teams in the state occurred on September 23, 1927 when Pike Road and Cloverdale met in the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
