Coaches of Other Sports

Even during the football off season, AHSFHS.org continues to work behind the scenes to research and add more information to the website. Bill Plott was kind enough to share the AHSAA coaching directories back to the 1951 season with us and most of the coaches have been added for the sports other than football.
I have had many retired and active coaches working with us to straighten out their careers and keep them current. There are still many that are very close to being accurate but may be off slightly as the directories are not always 100% accurate.
Recently many coaches have been added to the AISA teams in all sports and work will continue on this project.
The number of coaches across all the sports is becoming staggering just in the sheer number of coaches over the years. Here is an example of the number of different coaches we have in our databases for those interested.
Football - 6,146
Basketball - 4,514
Girls Basketball - 3,400
Baseball - 3,992
Softball - 3,004
Volleyball - 2,814
Boys Soccer - 584
Girls Soccer - 549
That is a total of just over 25,000 different coaches in the team sports. Just getting all of these straight with the years they were at each school is very difficult to say the least.
My request to all coaches is that if they see something wrong about their careers at AHSFHS.org, please contact me and we will immediately work to get everything up to date for you. We strive to be 100% accurate but that is not an easy task without the assistance and support of the coaches and fans.
