Week 7

Seven games into the 2013 season and the region games become more important than ever for teams working to make the playoffs. Here are a few tidbits from the seventh week of high school football action.

   *  Hoover kept on track for another Super Six title with a thumping of  Hillcrest Tuscaloosa 28-6 on Friday to continue their winning streak. The Bucs lead the AHSAA schools with a twenty-two game unbeaten streak. Edgewood Academy leads the AISA schools with a 39 game winning streak after 28-14 victory over Crenshaw Christian on Friday.

   *   Butler once again leads the AHSAA with the longest losing streak in the state with a string of twenty-six consecutive losses. They are followed closely by Red Level (23), Bullock County (22) and Woodville (22).

   *   Bullock County has lost 30 consecutive region games to lead the state with that unwanted honor.

   *  Piedmont extends their regular season winning streak to 30 games following a 56-0 win over Susan Moore. They are joined by Edgewood Academy with a streak of 30 games in the AISA.

   *  After a season-opening loss, Tanner continues to roll with an impressive 49-15 win over Sheffield and maintains their streak of 33 consecutive region wins. In the AISA, Monroe Academy defeated non-region foe Clarke Prep and continues a streak of 31 games.

   *  Maplesville leads for most consecutive home wins in a row with a streak of 31 games after 51-26 win over Autaugaville at home. Dadeville (29), Hoover (29) and Tanner (29) are close behind after they all won at home.

   *  T.R. Miller Tigers continued their string of 336 games without being shutout following a 54-14 win over Southside Selma.

* Leeds set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Tarrant 69-18.

* Lexington set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Phil Campbell 70-8.
* Northview set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Baldwin County 52-30.
* Pinson Valley set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Curry 74-0.
* Shades Valley set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Gardendale 61-28.

* Lee-Scott Academy set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to East Memorial Christian 71-59.
* West Morgan set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Lauderdale County 7-63.


Margin of Victory game

* Decatur Heritage Christian set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Waterloo 40-6.
* Lexington set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Phil Campbell 70-8.
* Pinson Valley set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Curry 74-0.
* Sipsey Valley set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Greene County 41-0.

* Susan Moore set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to Piedmont 0-56.


Points Scored by Both Teams in a Game

* East Memorial Christian set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Lee-Scott Academy 59-71.
* Lee-Scott Academy set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating East Memorial Christian 71-59.
* Stanhope Elmore set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating Thompson 45-42.

* Edgewood Academy has won a team record 39 consecutive games since 10/28/2010.
* Madison Academy has won a team record 17 consecutive games since 10/5/2012.
* Spanish Fort has won a team record 16 consecutive games since 10/11/2012.
