Woodrow Campbell graduated from Sumter County Training High School and Alabama State.
Campbell was the head football coach at Marengo High School from 1976-2004. His best team was the 1987 squad that finished with a 10-2 record.
He worked as a coach for 37 years, 36 as a head coach, before retiring following the 2004 season. His overall football coaching record is 169-129-1. His teams qualified for the playoffs a total of thirteen times and won four area titles.
