 2023 Preview 


       Rehobeth completed the 2022 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Rehobeth just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 5A region two with a 1-4 region record.

       The Rebels last playoff victory came during the 2005 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win.

       Since 2010, the Rehobeth football program has struggled with a record of 41-91.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Rehobeth has managed to compile a record of 100-158. Their 39.0% winning percentage ranks 41st in Class 5A and 300th in the AHSAA.




       The Rebels will be under the direction of new head football coach Toby Greene as they enter the 2023 season.  Coach Greene is a veteran head coach in the Wiregrass area having stints at Geneva County, Cottonwood, Florala, Headland and Northside Methodist. He was also the head coach at Rehobeth from 1999-2001. His 111 wins rank 49th among active coaches in the AHSAA. Over the course of his career, Coach Greene's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of eight times and won three region championships. The Rebels have one of the toughest overall schedules in Class 5A. Their opponents had a combined record of 64-49 last season. That ranks 9th in Class 5A and 58th in the AHSAA.

       The Rebels will need to win a few more games this fall if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region two this season.

      Brayden Hardy will be back this season at running back after rushing for 1,161 yards and 12 TDs in 2022.

      Parker Peacock will lead the defense this season after collecting 101 total tackles last season.

       The Rebels open the 2023 season at home against non-region opponent Wicksburg on Friday, September 1 at W.F. Andrews Field. Last year the Wicksburg Panthers finished with an overall record of 6-6 and in third place in Class 2A region two. The Panthers lost in the second round of the Class 2A playoffs to B.B. Comer by a score of 22-14.

       Rehobeth and Wicksburg have met a total of 44 times on the football field. The Rebels have a 36-8-0 record against the Panthers. They last met in 2022 with Rehobeth winning by a score of 31-12.
