 2023 Preview

Ranburne completed the 2022 season with a 5-5 record. Last year Ranburne just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 2A region four with a 3-4 region record.

Since 2010, Ranburne has gone a combined 88-56. Their 61.1% winning percentage ranks 13th in Class 2A over the past thirteen seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Ranburne has managed to compile a record of 148-119. Their 55.0% winning percentage ranks 15th in Class 2A and 143rd in the AHSAA.

The Bulldogs are led by head coach Stephen Bailey who is entering his eighth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 41-36 over the past seven seasons at Ranburne. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Bailey.

The Bulldogs could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region four this season with a few breaks and a little improvement. Ranburne came up short of the playoffs last year but are optimistic of a return to the post season this year.

Kaise Garrett will be back this season at running back after rushing for 820 yards and 8 TDs in 2022.

The Bulldogs open the 2023 season at home against non-region opponent White Plains on Friday, August 25 at Ranburne Stadium. Last year the White Plains Wildcats finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in sixth place in Class 4A region four. The Wildcats closed out the regular season with a loss to Westbrook Christian by a score of 47-27.

Ranburne and White Plains have met a total of 26 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 21-5-0 record against the Wildcats. They last met in 2022 with White Plains winning by a score of 14-7.

Ranburne lost 2A All-State  offensive lineman Carson Hall to graduation. He was named to the first team last season.
