 2023 Preview 


       Donoho completed the 2022 season with a 4-6 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 1A region six, the Falcons earned a spot in the playoffs in 2022. Donoho's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Lynn by a score of 42-0.

       It marked the first time since the 2019 season that the Falcons qualified for the playoffs.

       Donoho was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Falcons want to be competitive. They only averaged 18.3 points a game.

       Since 2010, Donoho has gone a combined 74-62. Their 54.4% winning percentage ranks 21st in Class 1A over the past thirteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Donoho has managed to compile a record of 122-141. Their 46.0% winning percentage ranks 30th in Class 1A and 225th in the AHSAA.




       The Falcons are led by head coach Jeremy Satcher who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 4-6 record in his first season at Donoho. The Falcons saw improvement from a 2-7 record the season before coach Satcher arrived. Under his direction the Falcons have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Satcher.

       Coach Satcher thinks this team will be more experienced and ready to take a step forward in 2023. Their goal is to make it back to the playoffs and win more games this year. WR/LB Richard Goad and TE/DB Hayes Farrell will be a couple of the team leaders this season for the Falcons.

       The Falcons could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region six this season with a few breaks and a little improvement.

       The Falcons open the 2023 season at home against non-region opponent Weaver on Friday, August 25 at Lentz Field. Last year the Weaver Bearcats finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in seventh place in Class 3A region four. The Bearcats closed out the regular season with a loss to Pleasant Valley by a score of 28-22.

       Donoho and Weaver have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Falcons have a 1-1-0 record against the Bearcats. They last met in 2022 with Donoho winning by a score of 31-28.
