 2022 Preview

Donoho finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 2-7 record. Last year Donoho finished sixth in Class 1A region five with a 1-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

Donoho was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Falcons want to be competitive. They only averaged 17.8 points a game.

The Falcons would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 3-15 record. Since 2010, Donoho has gone a combined 70-56. Their 55.6% winning percentage ranks 18th in Class 1A over the past twelve seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Donoho has managed to compile a record of 124-140. Their 47.0% winning percentage ranks 31st in Class 1A and 223rd in the AHSAA.

The Falcons will be under the direction of new head football coach Jeremy Satcher as they enter the 2022 season.  Coach Satcher served as an assistant coach at Oxford last season.

The Donoho Falcons will play in Class 1A region six during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Falcons remain in 1A but move from region five over to region six.

It will be an uphill battle for the Falcons if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region six this season. After just 2 wins last year, Donoho will be hoping to become more competitive in the region.

The Falcons open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Weaver on Friday, August 19 at Bill Bryan Stadium. Last year the Weaver Bearcats finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in sixth place in Class 3A region five. The Bearcats closed out the regular season with a loss to Ashville by a score of 33-6.

Donoho and Weaver have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Falcons have a 1-1-0 record against the Bearcats. They last met in with
