 2018 Preview 


       Chickasaw finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. Last year Chickasaw finished sixth in Class 2A region one with a 2-4 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The Chieftains have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2018.

      

       Chickasaw is a relatively new football program having fielded a team only four seasons. They have managed a record of 13-29 over the past four years.




       The Chieftains will be under the direction of new head football coach Jason Rowell as they enter the 2018 season.

       The Chickasaw Chieftains will play in Class 2A region one during the 2018 season.

       With a little luck and some improvement, the Chieftains could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region one this season. Chickasaw missed the playoffs the past couple of seasons but hope to return to the post season in 2018.

       The Chieftains open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Resurrection MS on Friday, August 24.

       This will be the second meeting between Chickasaw and Resurrection MS on the football field. The Chieftains have a 1-0-0 record against Resurrection MS. They last met in with

Collinsville completed the 1931 season with a record of 1-4-5. The five ties will forever be a state record since all games are now decided by overtime.
