Lee-Scott Academy completed the 2016 season with a 7-5 record. With their 3-2 region record and a third place finish in Class AAA region one, the Warriors earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. Last year Lee-Scott Academy reached the semi-finals before falling to a very good Bessemer Academy team by the score of 35-0. The Warriors had some tough luck last season as four of their five losses were by less than eight points. Since 2010, Lee-Scott Academy has gone a combined 48-29. Their 62.0% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class AAA over the past seven seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Lee-Scott Academy has managed to compile a record of 147-131. Their 53.0% winning percentage ranks 8th in Class AAA and 18th in the AISA. The Warriors are led by head coach Robert Maddox who is entering his twelveth season at the helm. The Warriors will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region one this season. The Warriors open the 2017 season on the road against non-region opponent Monroe Academy on Friday, August 25 at Volunteer Stadium. Last year the Monroe Academy Volunteer finished with an overall record of 11-2 and in first place in Class AAA region two. The Volunteer lost in the Class AAA State Championship game last season when they were defeated by Bessemer Academy. They final score was 28-7 in Troy. Lee-Scott Academy and Monroe Academy have met a total of 14 times on the football field. The Warriors have a 4-10-0 record against the Volunteer. They last met in 2016 with Monroe Academy winning by a score of 21-14. Lee-Scott Academy returns AISA All-State Junior offensive lineman Chasen Earnhardt.
