I know that the private schools are not happy with the decision to reclassify them into their own regions, but they're the ones that caused this. AHSAA got it right!

I've wanted this for years. Now we'll see if it's good for the state or not.

Probably moving towards a complete separation of public and private. Unfortunately, some private schools are completely against any rules that don't give them a competitive advantage.

Well, they just lost big. I dont like the separation but the decision was made and we all have to live with it. Considering the size of those private schools can you imagine the attendance at the championship games? I?m guessing very low.

What was attendance like previously for the smaller schools like Mars Hill or Coosa Christian? Never been to the Super 7.

AHSAA got it right... now if Private schools want games locally, they need to get Ole Will to pipe down complaining about it... He's going to get them black balled. I think this might already be an issue in the Shoals area.

Using Birmingham as an example. (didnt see 2025 numbers)
2021 with one private in all classes attendance was 62,544
2024 with four privates in all classes attendance was 41,269

This is an issue for private schools throughout the year, which is one of the main reasons they want to be in the AHSAA. In the AHSAA they benefit from profit sharing which they do not get in AISA. Public schools have student, alumni, and community support. With private schools there generally isn't a community that is attached to the school and alumni is not s involved.
