Just curious if anyone has their own top 10 for the class they follow? I usually do one myself for 4A. It's not too terribly different than the ASWA, but this is my preseason 4A Top 10.
1.) Handley 2.) Gordo 3.) Etowah 4.) American Christian 5.) Madison Academy 6.) Alabama Christian 7.) West Limestone 8.) Bibb County 9.) Good Hope 10.) Haleyville
H.M. (no particular order): Munford, Anniston, Mobile Christian, Jackson, Vigor
I use a mathematical basis to determine preseason, then inject more of a viewpoint as the season goes along. I wonder if American Christian will take a step back with the coach stepping down. I also believe West Limestone will take a step back, but the region still isn't that great and until someone knocks them off, they'll hang around my top 10. |

Nice. Thanks for the response. I used to do all classes but lately been focussing more on 3A and 4A, which are the two I pay attention to the most. I am working on a 3A top 10 but I am throwing in a new variable so it is taking me a bit longer. I hope to have it posted soon. |

Curious what you know about Bayside? I rank all teams and based on my theorem they are 29th. |

My uneducated guess. Fyffe will take a small step back. I heard Coach Benefield speaking the other day and they don't have the same numbers they usually do. They will still be plenty good and may go undefeated in the regular season but I think they will be out no later than the third round.

I'll be honest, I don't know a whole lot about them cause I'm from about a half hour east of Birmingham. But I think I remember reading on al.com last year that they battled injuries and Covid for a lot of the season early on, which is why they were really inconsistent until right before the playoffs, and I base a lot of my rankings on how teams finished the second half of the previous season, because I find that if they struggled early and found their stride late typically that means that they were either young and inexperienced or were battling injuries. So it's just more of a theory combined with the knowledge that they've always got talent down there at Bayside. |

May be right, but they sure looked good in the exhibition against a really good Mars Hill team. |

Its hard to doubt them. Their record speaks for its self. I saw the 2016 team in person a pretty good bit. I think they would have won 1A-A4 that year. My son played 5A ball that year and Russellville won our region/went undefeated and Fyffe was 3 TD better than them.
