They will drop teams for losing 2 classification up and keep some teams the same for losing two classifications up.
Winfield and Reeltown are both prime examples losing to teams above classification and dropping. |

The polls have always been stupid. You?ve got sports writers from other ends of the state blindly voting for teams on the opposite end of the state based on hear say and not actually seeing.

Polls are fun, but they're just conversation pieces. I know I like to put out polls going all the way back to the Al.com days and MySportsPlace. I also know Kody and Sloth have posted some in the past.
That being said, it's impossible to have a real strong handle on over 400 teams that play high school football in Alabama. Take polls for what they are, conversation pieces and have fun with it.

The concept of polls and rankings are tough to gauge in sports in particular, but I do believe having a multitude of people filling out their own rankings and averaging out is interesting. Like our methods and opinions, their moves turn out to be sometimes right, and sometimes wrong. It is fascinating how it works. Context is key, but that's impossible for anyone to 100% fully get, so the next best thing for most people is stats, which I agree is the next best thing. |

I'm not sure if they publish the full poll where you are, but Stacy Long at the TimesDaily posts the full voting list with the article. It is interesting how writers vote based on their location. There is also one in particular who is always way different from the status quo (not a bad thing, just an observation). He has Luverne #1 in 2A. Cherokee Co., Anniston, North Jackson and Mad Acad unranked in 4A. Moody is unranked in 6A. Hoover unranked in 7A. |

Most sports writers in this state have no clue past the local schools in the area they cover and that?s it |

Remember the ones voting are also the ones who will have more than 11 on the All County first team offense. |
