All the games feel like they could certainly go either way! Was hard to pick the winners in mine

I'm Sure David will post about it, but you know for a fact I'll be making my picks later. Week 1 is definitely an interesting week since we don't know much about anyone. |

One of the best games was left out, maybe because it?ll be a blow out. Central-Clay demolishes Handley. It?s usually a great game every year though.

A lot of games get left out because, simply put, there are a lot of good games. And sometimes good games don't always mean high profile. For instance, I chose Decatur Heritage vs Sheffield because both teams are drastically different than last year and should be pretty evenly matched but no one really expects either of these teams to be really great this year.
I can't speak for TP or Kody, but I like to spotlight teams that maybe don't have a lot of hype or expectations from time to time. I get tired of reading the about the same ole teams over and over.

Usually week 0 I pick games that I know most people are expecting and are excited for. After that I like to balance it out. Usually a big game in a big class, big game in a small class, then I like to balance it out with two that no one usually is talking about.

I try to do a little bit of both. Some weeks are so loaded that it's hard to just pick four games. Other weeks the schedule is lighter, or the big games all include teams I've already written about multiple times. As much as possible, I try to spread my games out across the state as well.
Then with Week 0, there's the added element that most of the games that are big matchups this year were also big matchups in Week 0 last year, and I'd rather not write about the exact same matchup I wrote about last year. That's really how I decided on a game like Susan Moore vs JB Pennington. Sure, neither team will likely be a state championship contender, both it's two solid teams in an early-season rivalry game, so there's a little more on the line than just an early season tune-up. Plus, it's a game I've never written about. |

Very tempted to go with MA over Tallassee considering the news about Tallassee's QB but I think OL and DL depth gets Tallassee the win at home. |

I'll post my picks here. Now I know the Carver Mongomery vs. Thompson game score, so I don't know what to do about that. I also have the knowledge that Ezavier Crowell is suspended for the Saraland game, but that game hasn't taken place yet, so that shouldn't be an issue for my prediction, hopefully.
The bolded team is the winner
Sylvania at North Jackson Aliceville at Pickens County Southside Gasden at Guntersville Decatur Heritage Christian at Sheffield Fyffe at Maplesville Winterboro at Vincent Susan Moore at J.B. Pennington Cherokee County at Piedmont Saraland at Jackson Carver Montgomery at Thompson (again, you can count this one or not if you believe I would've chosen Thompson to win beforehand) Mongomery Academy at Tallassee Benjamin Russell at Opelika |

I don't know that having their starting QB would have helped tonight, wow. |
