 High School Bio:

            Cruce played varsity football three years, was captain of his squad, named All-Tri-Cities three years, All-Tennessee Valley Conference two years, All-State two years, and All-America honorable mention. His other sports are basketball, baseball and track. Specialties: kickoffs, extra points, punts. Statistics: 16 touchdowns, 52 percent accuracy on pass completions and a 7 yard per pass average.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
