 High School Bio:

            Hubbert was named All-State football, Tiger Rag award for being the outstanding football player on Fayette County High School team of 1955; selected as member of National High School All-American football team by Wigham Wiseman of American Football committee. His other sports are basketball and baseball. Played three years varsity football; his specialty was broken field running, blocking and tackling. Grid statistics; 14 touchdowns, 1955 longest run from scrimmage 83 yards, one kick-off return 85 yards for touchdown, 3 punt returns for touchdown. His longest was 55 yards.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
