 High School Bio:

            Benny Dempsey ran the ball 125 times for 1,000 yards with an average punt of 43 yards. This punting, passing, fullback played varsity football under Coach Bill Meredith for four years. Benny won the All-State, All-South Alabama, and All-Second District honors. The All-Star South football squad had a powerful fullback in this 210 pound man from Brantley High.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Morris Higginbotham coached three different teams to divisional state championships in the 1950s. He won titles at Walnut Grove in 1952, West Blocton in 1955 and Enterprise in 1960.
