Competitive defensive force at Charles Henderson. McBryde recorded 147 tackles (74 solo, 18 TFL), seven sacks, two pass break ups, a field goal block and a fumble recovery. He played in the Under Armour All-America Game and the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game.

McBryde was named USA Today Alabama defensive player of the year, 2013 ASWA Lineman of the Year and 2014 finalist, AL.com A-List, ESPN, 247 Sports and Scout list him among top five prospects in Alabama. He was top 20 among OLB by Rivals, ESPN, 247 Sports and Scout He was also named to the PrepStar top 100. McBryde also played basketball, baseball and track.
