 High School Bio:

            After an all-state junior season at wide receiver he made the switch to running back for his senior year. He gained 1,269 yards on 113 carries and scored 13 touchdowns. He averaged 11.2 yards every time he touched the football. The previous year he led the state with over 1,000 yards receiving on 72 catches and scored 18 touchdowns.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
