 High School Bio:

            As a junior, Griffie rushed for over 1,000 yards on a team that finished the season 0-10. His senior year was even more productive as he ran for 1,728 yards on 224 carries and scored 20 touchdowns while averaging 7.7 yards per carry in the regular season. His totals, including the playoffs were more impressive as he ran for 2,154 yards on 275 carries and 23 touchdowns. He was a three year starter at tailback and defensive back.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

The Tuscaloosa Black Bears were considered one of the best programs in the nation from 1925-1931. Their record over that span was an amazing 61-0-3.
