 High School Bio:

            Smith led Athens to the Class 3A state championship as a senior. Played fullback on varsity squad for 3 years and was captain of his team. Earned All-State, Most Valuable 3A Player, Super All-State, All-Southern, 3A Indoor High Jump Champion, Basketball Most Valuable. Had 2,053 Yards rushing, scored 37 touchdowns.

In 1970 Monroe Academy won the first championship in the A.I.S.A. by defeating Lowndes Academy 6-0.
