 High School Bio:

            Was running back on the varsity football team three years. Also lettered in track and basketball. Earned All-City, All-Metro and All-State Team honors in football. Gained over 1,000 yards during the last two seasons, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. Coached by Danny Salmon.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
