 High School Bio:

            Played varsity football three years and was captain. Earned All-County, Post-Herald All-State, Birmingham News All-State, Honorable Mention All-American, and All-Southern Team honors. During his senior year scored 19 touchdowns, 116 points and gained 1136 yards rushing.




Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
