 High School Bio:

            Brackin averaged 220 yards a game in leading his team to the Class 1A state championship. He played four years of varsity football. He also played baseball and basketball. He gained 2,600 yards rushing and scored 20 touchdowns. He was All-Black Belt Conference; All-West Alabama; All-State, All Southern; and Honorable Mention All-America.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
