            Mitchell was All-Border Conference He played in All-Star East-West Baseball Game. His specialty was "Kick-off return and Punting". In rushing he carried 72 times for 285 yards - averaged 4 yards per carry. In punt returns - 3 for 25 yards, an average of 8.3 yards.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Bart Starr received coaching from Kentucky great Babe Parilli his senior season at Sidney Lanier in hopes of joining Bear Bryant at Kentucky. He had to settle for Alabama.
