 High School Bio:

            Meadows was All-Valley; All-Conference; All-State Jr. & Sr. years; Received Back of the year Award in Junior and Senior years; Won four other trophies. He also played basketball and was voted Best Defensive Player for two years. His specialty was running the ball. In his senior year he gained 1,253 yards in 221 carries - averaged 5 yards a play. He played four years of varsity football and was Captain of his squad.

The first football game played by a high school team in Alabama was in 1892 when Central Birmingham (Phillips) lost to Alabama 56-0 on November 11.
