OXFORD ? Oxford High School football coach Ryan Herring told his team this morning he was leaving the program for an undisclosed opportunity.
His disclosure to the team confirms rumors first reported on social media by East Alabama Sports Today last night.

Just one man's opinion and I don't know the guy personally but I think Will Wagnon would be a great hire. The guy built a winner in Munford and would have in Hazel Green too.

Michael Easley has been a fixture on the Saks sidelines these last 14 years, but come this fall he?ll be wearing a different shade of red.
EASLEY Monday night, the Talladega County board approved the longtime Saks assistant as the new head football and athletics director at Munford. East Alabama Sports Today first reported the expected hiring late last week. Easley, 38, becomes the Lions? 17th head football coach and succeeds Bill Smith, who left to become head coach at Fayette County. It is his first head coaching job.

Oxford job thoughts? Pinson Valley's Bo Nix and others said to have interviewed:
LET?S TALK: Interviews for the head coaching job at Oxford began Friday. Pinson Valley coach Patrick Nix was among three coaches expected to be on campus. Another two interviews, including Oxford assistant (and former Munford and Hazel Green head coach) Will Wagnon, are expected to take place Saturday. It was not known who else was in Friday, but Foley coach Tad Niblett and T.R. Miller coach Keith Etheredge are also said to be on the interview list. Oxford officials have said they?d like to have their coach by May 3.
