Amison leaves Cedar Bluff for Gaston

Longtime Cedar Bluff assistant basketball coach Johnny Amison is finally getting an opportunity to lead his own program.
Amison was approved by the Etowah Board of Education Tuesday night as the new boys basketball head coach at Gaston. He succeeds former coach Kolby Brannon, who is now coaching at Gadsden City.
Amison and the Bulldogs? first game is scheduled for Nov. 10 at Crossville.

GAYLESVILLE ? The Gaylesville Trojan boys and girls basketball programs have turned to 20-year coaching veteran Corey Head to lead them to the next level.

Head took over both programs from former head coach Jay Prater last summer. He comes to the Trojans following coaching stints at Sardis, Madison County, Douglas and Albertville.
