BREAKING NEWS: The Post Herald has learned Sand Rock assistant principal Alan Heath has accepted the Wildcats? head football coaching vacancy. He replaces Steven Chesnut, who resigned at the end of the 2019 season. Heath took over the Wildcats? spring and summer workout program in Chesnut?s absence.
Heath, a Hokes Bluff graduate, has also been an assistant football coach at Hazel Green, Munford and Alexandria high schools.
The Wildcats are scheduled to open the 2020 football season on Aug. 28 at home against Pisgah.

There's a reason the Willie Spears Experience is no longer coaching in Florida:
"Spears was fired by the Escambia County School District in 2014 for ?gross insubordination? after he used several players in the football team?s opening game despite warnings from school administrators regarding their eligibility.
In the years since Spears? firing, the Education Practices Commission of Florida has investigated the incident. In November 2017, the entity suspended Spears? teaching license, fined him $6,600, mandated a three-year probation and excluded coaching from his scope of work within the state.
