http://highschoolsports.al.com/news/article/1569095166590192155/tr-miller-football-coach-andrew-thomas-resigns-after-two-seasons-on-job/

Andrew Thomas has resigned as T.R. Miller head coach. I wonder if they're wishing they'd have let Riggs stay on instead of dumping him for the flashy coach from another state. Regardless if Riggs retired at first, he decided to come back, and nobody can match the years he gave to Miller. They treated him badly, and they're getting what they deserve. Reminds me of how Deshler did Mothershed.

From the Gadsden Times

The conference room at the Etowah County Board of Education office was packed Tuesday afternoon to receive glad tidings at a special called meeting.
Glencoe native Brian Alred was hired as Glencoe?s new head football coach, returning to his alma mater from Ragland High School, where he?s been head coach for two years.
?Once a Yellow Jacket, always a Yellow Jacket,? Glencoe High Principal Charlton Giles said. He said his hope for the coaching search was that there?d been so many good candidates it would be hard to chose ? but that one would step forward and distinguish himself. That?s what happened, he said, with Alred.
?He?s got the experience and the maturity,? Giles said. ?He?s ready to step up and lead the program.
?We?re going to have a fun ride,? Giles said.
Alred thanked the board, the school administration and the community for its support. He said some of the coaches he played for at Glencoe were present.

?Y?all are part of the reason I?m in this profession,? he said.
Glencoe Mayor Charles Gilchrist said Glencoe is glad to have Alred home.
?You?ve got a lot of people pulling for you,? he said.
And the folks at Ragland, Superintendent Alan Cosby said, were not happy to see him leave. He said he spoke to that system?s superintendent last night and he was not pleased.
Alred was presented with a Yellow Jackets cap, and enthusiastic applause from those attending the meeting.

Etheredge is a really good guy. Ive talked to him several times in the past. I hope he looked into that situation down in Brewton closely. They treated Riggs very badly for all he had done for them.
