Huffman's stadium is called Vikings Stadium. It opened toward the end of the 2013 season. Their first three home games were at Lawson, while their last two, against Hewitt & Jackson-Olin, were at their new true home field. It's on their campus at 950 Old Springville Road in Birmingham. The only Birmingham teams left playing home games at Lawson Field now are Ramsay & Woodlawn.
Shades Valley calls the football field Frank Nix Stadium, while the sports complex is what's called Frank Nix Memorial Complex. Saw this new sign above the pressbox at the team scrimmages today, confirming what I'd always heard.
North River Christian Academy The Chargers are playing all of their home games this season at Charger Park. Charger Park is located just around the corner from the school on Martin Luther King Blvd.
John Carroll is naming it's field after Pat Sullivan on Friday. Don't know whether that can be considered the same as the name of their stadium, though. I'll be there in three weeks, so I'll see what it says on the scoreboard, press box and such.
Many schools have a stadium name and a different field name. Some do not even agree on the name of the field. Some schools rename the field every couple of decades or so.
We only have a place for the stadium name and I never did anything with the field names.
I guess we will stick to just the stadium names to keep it simple.
Yes, I know. Some call their stadium such and such Field, such as Jackson's Legion Field. That's what I was meaning. They never mentioned the name of their stadium in the article, so it could possibly be naming the stadium. Hopefully there'll be some signage in the stadium when I go there in a few weeks.
