 Head Coach: Tom Calvin

The 1961 Sylacauga Aggies were chosen Class A State Champions by the Birmingham News from District 3.

This was a very good football team that should have been undefeated. Two of the seniors signed with Alabama and two signed with Memphis State, one signed with the Merchant Marine Academy and one with VMI. Of the juniors, one signed with Alabama, one with Auburn, and one with Southern Miss. One of the sophomores later signed with Alabama too.
