1953 Ohatchee Indians
Record: 8-1-1
Head Coach: Charles Patty
The 1953 Ohatchee Indians were chosen Class A State Champions by the Birmingham News from District 3.
Ohatchee High School won the Calhoun County Championship and the Birmingham News District 3 Class A state championship. Their only loss was to Class 3A Anniston in the Annual Thanksgiving Day Quarterback Club Turkey Bowl in Anniston. Ohatchee would finish number 2 in the Birmingham Post-Herald final poll to undefeated Verbena.
The Indians, with only 39 players on the roster, won the title even after the season ending loss to the much large team from Anniston.
