The 1958 Ardmore Tigers were chosen Class A State Champions by the Birmingham News from District 4.
Ardmore capped off the first perfect season in the schools history with a 20-0 shutout of defending state champions West Limestone. The victory assured the Tigers of a state championship as awarded by the Birmingham News in 1958.
The Tigers were led by seniors James Steel at center and Charles Buckhanna at quarterback. A total of 27 players dedicated themselves in a magical season in Ardmore.
