*-Class 3A in 2009

Today we will explore 4A football in Alabama and the 2010 season. Saraland Joins Region One and will find the going tough for a startup program. Eight schools made the move up from 3A with Dadeville and Straughn being playoff teams from 2009 that will try to make the jump successfully. Five schools came down from 5A with only Springville and Beauregard making the playoffs last season out of the lot.

Region Seven leads the way with an overall record of 54-37 and defending State Champion Cherokee County. Region Eight is only slightly weaker than several other regions in 4A.

Region One will once again set the pace for the South end of the state with Jackson, Thomasville and UMS-Wright all contending for a trip to Auburn in December. One thing is for certain. Whoever wins Region One will be the odds on favorite for a State Championship along with Cherokee County, North Jackson and Deshler from the North.

Early this morning we threw all the teams in a pot hole out on the street and as the cars drove by blowing the pieces of paper everywhere we came up with the final order of finish. This is our projected order of finish for 4A.
