*-Class 2A in 2009.

Today we will explore 1A high school football in Alabama and the 2010 season. New teams dot the landscape with St. Luke's and Decatur Heritage Christian joining the 1A classification. St. Jude, Keith, Pickens County, Shades Mountain Christian and Addison join 1A after moving down from 2A. Pickens County and Addison could make an instant impact with the move.

Region 1 went 46-30 overall last season for the best record in class 1A and placed five teams in the playoffs. Region six appears to be the weakest football region with an overall record of 31-52 in 2009.

Look for the usual suspects to rise above the rest with Sweet Water, Brantley, R.A. Hubbard and Linden to likely candidates for a Super Six appearance in December. Dark horses may come in the likes of Pickens County, Loachapoka and Addison.

We threw all the teams in a magician's hat we purchased on EBay for $4.25 and began to draw them out until we came up with this article. This is our projected order of finish for 1A.
