Region 1

Gulf Shores - Jamie Williams

Jamie Williams was let go at Gulf Shores after two seasons that produced a 1-19 record. Playing in a very difficult region, the Dolphins found very little success under Williams.


2017 Season - Rick Cauley

Rick Cauley arrives from Murphy where his three teams went 20-13 in three seasons.






Region 2

Carver Montgomery - Billy Gresham

After six seasons as the head football coach at Carver, Billy Gresham, has resigned to pursue other opportunities. His record with the program is 46-25 and 6-5 in the playoffs. His best squad in 2012 finished with a 12-2 record, losing in the semi-finals.


2017 Season - Willie Spears

Willie Spears will take over the football program at Carver for the 2017 season. He has previously been the head coach at Escambia Fl and Vernon FL.





Stanhope Elmore - Mike Dean

Much traveled coach Mike Dean leaves Stanhope Elmore after just one season with a 4-6 record.


2017 Season - Brian Bradford

Brian Bradford leaves Chilton County after three seasons to accept the head coaching job at Stanhope Elmore. His time at Chilton County produced a 9-21 record and no playoff appearances.





Northview - LeBrian Stewart

LeBrian Stewart leaves Northiview after five seasons with a 16-35 record. None of his teams managed to win more games than they lost and went 0-1 in the playoffs. The Dothan City School Board decided to go in another direction for a once proud program that has found little success in recent years.


2017 Season - Josh Parrish

Josh Parrish moves over from Daleville after leading the football program for the past three seasons. His teams finished a combined 23-11 reaching the playoffs each year.






Region 3

Chilton County - Brian Bradford

Brian Bradford leaves Chilton County after three seasons to accept the head coaching job at Stanhope Elmore. His time at Chilton County produced a 9-21 record and no playoff appearances.


2017 Season - Tal Morrison

Tal Morrison will take over the football program at Chilton County for the 2017 season. He has spent the past nine years as an assistant coach under Danny Horn at Benjamin Russell.





Opelika - Brian Blackmon

Brian Blackmon resigned his position as head football coach and athletic director at Opelika in February. His eight seasons at the school produced a 69-25 record. Twice Blackmon led the Bulldogs to the state championship game only to fall to Hoover in the finals.


2017 Season - Caleb Ross

After just three seasons at McGill-Toolen, Caleb Ross moves on to Opelika. He led the Yellow Jackets to their best season in school history with a 13-1 record and a state championship in 2015.

A graduate of Prattville, he was also the head coach at Thompson for one year (2011) with a 2-8 record.






Region 4

Bessemer City - Martez Edwards

Martez Edwards did not re-apply for his position as the head coach at Bessemer City following the 2016 season. He leaves with a 30-18 record and four playoff appearances.

Selma - Keon Handley

Keon Handley leaves Selma after one year with a 1-9 record. He has accepted the same position at Fairfield.

Region 6

Minor - George Bates

Despite an 11-2 record and a trip to the third round of the playoffs last year, George Bates will not return to the sidelines at Minor in 2017. His teams went 26-11 in three seasons. All three of his teams reached the playoffs.


2017 Season - Curtis Graves

Curtis Graves takes over the football program at Minor entering the 2017 season. He has been at Minor the past three seasons serving as an assistant coach.

Graves has coaches at Central Tuscaloosa and Greensboro where his three teams finished 17-15 (2010-12).





Pinson Valley - Matt Glover

Matt Glover was relieved of his duties as head football coach at Pinson Valley High School in December. After eight seasons at the school with a 50-41 record the coach and school parted ways.

Glover also served as the head coach at Moody for three seasons and leaves with a 64-58 overall record in eleven seasons.


2017 Season - Patrick Nix

After five seasons as the head football coach at Scottsboro, Patrick Nix moves to Pinson Valley in 2017. His record at Scottsboro stands at 28-18 including 12-1 last year.





Clay-Chalkville - Jerry Hood

After eight seasons as the head football coach at Clay-Chalkville, Jerry Hood is stepping down. His teams went a combined 75-26 reaching the playoffs each year.

The 2014 team finished 15-0 capping off the season with the schools second state championship. His overall records stands at 103-52 in 13 seasons as a head coach.


2017 Season - Drew Gilmer

Drew Gilmer, a longtime assistant at Clay-Chalkville, takes over for Jerry Hood.






Region 8

Columbia - Chris Hancock

Chris Hancock resigned as the head coach at Columbia after just three seasons that saw his teams finish a combined 6-24. His final squad went 0-10.


2017 Season - Marcus McCall

Marcus McCall has been named as the interim head football coach for the 2017 season.
