      The following coaching changes have occurred since the end of the 2013 high school football season. AHSFHS.org will keep a running list of the coaching changes and any new hires along the way.



  
  
2/22New Brockton: Justin Jones has officially been hired as head coach.
2/22Sweet Water: Pat Thompson has been promoted to head coach.
2/21Marion County: Enterprise assistant Brandon Wilcox will be the new head coach/athletic director at Marion County.
2/19Smith Station: Alpharetta high school (GA) head coach Jason Dukes will be the new head coach.
2/16 Columbia : Sparkman defensive coordinator, Chris Hancock will be the new head football coach.
2/14 Bullock County: Martae Wyckoff has been approved as the new head coach.
2/12Carbon Hill: Woody Smothers is name the head coach at Carbon Hill.
2/6 Florence: J.B. Wallace is named the head coach at Florence. Wallace was the defensive coordinator at Prattville before following Dubose to Florence.
2/6 Restoration Academy: Reggie Tabor, former Auburn player, is named the head coach.
2/3Marion County: Russell Funk stepped down to accept the job at Curry
1/31 Jackson Academy: Danny Adams is named the new head football coach.
1/31Opp: Brent Hill has been named the new head football coach at Opp. Hill comes from Collierville, Tenn., near Memphis.
1/30 Charles Henderson: As thought, Jamey Dubose accepts the head coaching job in Troy. A surprising move to say the least. He takes over for Mike Dean.
1/29Florence: After stating he was very happy in Florence. Jamey Dubose leaves Florence after two seasons, possibly for Charles Henderson.
1/28Deshler: In a surprising move, John Mothershed has resigned from the head coaching job after 19 seasons and two state titles.
1/28Paul Bryant: Errol Jones, after two seasons with the school (1-19) is let go.
1/28Butler: Mark Davis is no longer the head football coach at Butler after only one 0-10 season.
1/28Mary G. Montgomery: Mike Dean returns to Mobile County as the head coach of the Vikings. He was the coach at McGill-Tool before the Charles Henderson job.
1/27 Hillcrest Tuscaloosa: Scott Martin is no longer the head football coach at Hillcrest.
1/24North Sand Mountain: Adam Gilbert leaves North Sand Mountain to take the Arab job.
1/24 Escambia County: Royce Young has been named the new head coach at Escambia County
1/24White Plains: The board decided not to renew the contract of White Plains High School head football coach Heath Harmon.
1/24Ohatchee: Scott Martin is hired as the head football coach at Ohatchee High School.
1/23Millry: Billy Gardner returns to Millry as the head football coach replacing Charley Taylor.
1/18 Russellville: Michael Jackson resigns.
1/17Carbon Hill: Rodney Dollar has resigned after finishing 0-10 in his only season at the school last year.
1/17Curry: In a surprising move, Russell Funk the head football coach at Marion County has accepted the same position at Curry. Funk led Marion County to the 2011 Class 1A state championship and a runner-up finish in 2012.
1/16Cottage Hill: Announced they have hired 34-year old Ham Barnett who spent the last two seasons coaching linebackers and strength and conditioning at Mary G. Montgomery.
1/15New Brockton: Jim Bob Striplin resigned after six seasons and a 31-33 record.
1/15North Jackson: Mark Rose is reported to have taken over the football program at North Jackson. He was at the school from 200-2007 before going to Smiths Station.
1/15Smiths Station: Mark Rose is reported to move back to North Jackson as the head coach.
1/10 Columbia: It has been reported that Michael Pryor is no longer the head coach after two seasons.
1/9Murphy: Ronn Lee resigned at the head football coach at Murphy. He compiled a 77-38 record in ten seasons as the head coach at Murphy. Rick Cauley has been named the interim head coach.
1/9 American Christian: Former player at American Christian and South Carolina QB, Chris Smelley, has been named to replace John Causey as the head football coach.
1/8Minor: Randy Cook was let go after compiling a 38-37 record in seven seasons at the school.
1/8Southside Gadsden: Ron Daughtery is now Southside's permanent head football coach.
1/7Sweet Water : Stacy Luker has stepped down as the head coach at Sweet Water after a great career that includes 5 state championships. He has taken the head coaching position at Neshoba Central in Philadelphia MS.
1/6Baldwin County: Daphne assistant Nathan McDaniel set to be next Baldwin County coach
1/3 Sparkman: Bo Culver, the offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach at Florence has accepted the head coaching job.
12/19 American Christian: John Causey is not returning as the head football coach after three seasons at the school.
12/18 Chilton County: Donnie Hand has resigned after three seasons at the helm.
12/18 Ohatchee: Nathan Wehunt has resigned following two seasons on the job as the head coach.
12/17 Prattville Christian: Chris Jones has been hired to fill the vacant head coaching job.
12/17 Walker: Heath Brunner has gone from the interim head football coach to the head coaching position at Walker.
12/15 Charles Henderson: Mike Dean steps down after taking the Trojans to the Super Six in 2013.
12/13Cottage Hill Christian: Joe Downey has stepped down at Cottage Hill Christian in Mobile after three seasons at the school. He is 123-114 in 22 seasons as a head coach.
12/12Lafayette: Dialleo Burks, a LaGrange High graduate, is returning to his old school to be the head football coach following one year at LaFayette.
12/12Escambia County: Head coach Lev Holly has resigned after two seasons on the job to spend more time with his family.
12/11Arab: Watt Parker has stepped down from the head coaching post after eight years.
12/5Baldwin County: The head coaching job is now open. Bobby Moore leaves after three seasons with a 2-28 record.

11/27Grissom: The head coaching job is open. Dale Overton has left the position after going 0-10 in 2013.
11/26Curry: Shay Oliver stepped down after six years as head coach.
11/20Mary Montgomery: Al Jones, who served as the interim coach in 2013 has stepped down.
11/19Sparkman: Tim Gillespie has stepped down after two seasons at Sparkman.
11/17Calhoun: Sources tell us that the head coaching job is open. Dewayne Williams coached the last five games in 2013 as the interim coach.
11/17Prattville Christian: Prattville Christian is seeking applicants for their head coaching position after Sam Peak left following one season on the job.
11/16Bullock County: The head coaching job is open. Joshua Chambers coached the last half of the season as the interim head coach.

11/12Opp: Head coach Jack Whigham has been relieved of the head coaching duties after eight seasons.
11/7Ariton: Julius Head, who is in his third stint as the head coach at Ariton HS, has decided to step down. Defensive coordinator Floyd Graham has been elevated to the head coaching job.
11/6North Jackson: Tony Johnson was let go after going 2-8 and missing the playoffs for only the second time in school history.
