Week 4

Almost to the halfway point of the 2011 season and a few tidbits on this past weekend's action.

   *  Daphne and Thomasville all continued their state leading 19 game winning streaks.

   *  Central Hayneville continues to top our list with thirty-six consecutive losses.

   *  Crenshaw Christian has won twenty-three regular season games in a row.

   *   Handley won at home so their streak goes to twenty-eight home wins in a row.

   *   Cold Springs has lost twenty-seven straight region games.

   *   The T.R. Miller Tigers have scored in 309 consecutive games.

   *  Sweet Water lost to Linden in a region game. Crenshaw Christian takes over the state lead with 37 consecutive region wins while Leroy leads the AHSAA schools with 33 straight region victories.



Note: The new schools will not be included in team records because of the obvious reasons.

Points scored in a game

 * East Memorial Christian set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Meadowview Christian 58-12.
 * Muscle Shoals set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Lawrence County 63-7.
 * Prattville set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Wetumpka 71-12.
 * Shoals Christian set a team record for points scored in a game by defeating Tharptown 59-39.
 * St. Lukes set a team record for points scored in a game by losing to Marengo 48-50.


Points allowed in a game

 * Grissom set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Bob Jones 0-63.
 * Montgomery Academy set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to T.R. Miller 14-62.
 * Wetumpka set a team record for points allowed in a game by losing to Prattville 12-71.


Margin of Victory game

 * Muscle Shoals set a team record for margin of victory by defeating Lawrence County 63-7.


Margin of Defeat game

 * Grissom set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to Bob Jones 0-63.
 * New Hope set a team record for margin of defeat in a game by losing to Madison Academy 0-55.


Points Scored by Both Teams in a Game

 * American Christian set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating Isabella 70-32.
 * Marengo set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating St. Lukes 50-48.
 * Prattville set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating Wetumpka 71-12.
 * Shoals Christian set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by defeating Tharptown 59-39.
 * St. Lukes set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Marengo 48-50.
 * Tharptown set a team record for points scored by both teams in a game by losing to Shoals Christian 39-59.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Morris Higginbotham coached three different teams to divisional state championships in the 1950s. He won titles at Walnut Grove in 1952, West Blocton in 1955 and Enterprise in 1960.
