 Alan Lee

Alan Lee is a native of Haleyville and a graduate of Childersburg High School. He was a 1981 letterman for the Auburn Tigers and received his degree from Auburn University in the spring of 1982.

His first job out of college was as an assistant at Meigs Junior High in Fort Walton Beach, Florida in the fall of 1982. He remained there through the 1988 school year getting his math certification degree in the process.

Lee coached the running backs for one season at Taylor High School in Perry, Florida before returning to Alabama as an assistant under Buddy Rich at Pell City in 1989. He remained with the Panthers for three seasons and served the last two as the offensive coordinator.

He landed his first head coaching job at St. Clair County High School in 1992 where his first team finished the season 4-6. The 1993 squad went a perfect 15-0 and won the Class 2A state championship by defeating Hazlewood 18-13 in the title game.

Coach Lee left for the same position at Shelby County in 1994 where his only team finished 1-9. He was hired at Emma Sansom in 1995 to replace the departed Mike Shipp, who returned to Arab after three seasons as the Rebels head coach.

His four seasons at Emma Sansom combined for a 21-19 record. In 1999 Lee returned to St. Clair County where he posted a 48-29 record in seven seasons. He stepped down following the 2005 season but returned to assist Coach Charles Boren after a couple of years.

In 2011 Coach Lee once again returned to St. Clair County for a third stint as the head football coach. He remains at the school going into the 2014 season. His overall coaching record is 104-81 as a head coach in 17 seasons at three different schools.

Coach Lee was named the 2A Coach of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association in 1999.
