Game: Played Friday December 5, 1986 at Courtland
 
Summary:
             Johnfer Landrum scored two touchdowns to lead Sweet Water to a 26-14 win over Courtland and the 1A state championship. The title was Sweet Water's fourth since 1978 and this was Courtland's first trip the the title game. Landrum scored on runs of 3 and 7 yards for the Bulldogs as they would lead for most of the game.
             Sweet Water would strike first on Landrum's first touchdown run with 4:35 remaining in the opening period. Courtland would fight right back to score on a 54 yard pass from Donald Young to Brian Davis but the two point conversion would fail and they still trailed 7-6. Sweet Water would extend their lead in the third quarter with two more touchdowns.
             The Chiefs would narrow the margin when Deano Orr scored on a 7 yard run and a two point conversion by Young made the score 20-14. But, Sweet Water would put the game away with a 21 yard run by Kelvin Johnson in the fourth quarter.
