Hamilton completed the 2021 season with a 4-7 record. With their 2-4 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 4A region five, the Aggies earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Hamilton's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Madison Academy by a score of 55-0. Since 2010, Hamilton has gone a combined 83-53. Their 61.0% winning percentage ranks 16th in Class 4A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Hamilton has managed to compile a record of 178-109. Their 62.0% winning percentage ranks 11th in Class 4A and 80th in the AHSAA. The Aggies are led by head coach Barry Peoples who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 9-13 over the past two seasons at Hamilton. Under his direction the Aggies have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Peoples. Coach Peoples' overall record as a head football coach in fifteen season stands at 89-72 (55.3%). The Hamilton Aggies will play in Class 4A region five during the 2022 season. Overall, the region is among the weakest in the state. Qualifying for one of the playoffs spots could be a little easier. The Aggies enter the 2022 season in the middle of a 7 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season. With a little luck and some improvement, the Aggies could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region five this season. The Aggies open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Red Bay on Friday, August 19 at Tiger Stadium. Last year the Red Bay Tigers finished with an overall record of 2-7 and in fifth place in Class 2A region eight. The Tigers closed out the regular season with a loss to Fayette County by a score of 24-20. Hamilton and Red Bay have met a total of 20 times on the football field.
