 2018 Preview 


       Trinity completed the 2017 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Trinity just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 4A region two with a 3-3 region record.

       The defense allowed a team record 331 points last season.

       Since 2010, Trinity has gone a combined 54-36. Their 60.0% winning percentage ranks 14th in Class 4A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Trinity has gone a combined 202-81. Their 71.0% winning percentage ranks 4th in Class 4A and 25th in the AHSAA. The Wildcats have been successful on the football field with twenty-two winning seasons during this time.




       The Wildcats are led by head coach Barry Loyal who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 4-6 record in his first season at Trinity. The Wildcats saw improvement from a 3-7 record the season before coach Loyal arrived. The Wildcats have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Loyal.

       Coach Loyal's overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 4-6 (40.0%).

       The Trinity Wildcats will play in Class 4A region two during the 2018 season. The Wildcats have one of the toughest schedules in Class 4A. Their opponents had a combined record of 71-46 last season. That ranks 6th in Class 4A and 27th in the AHSAA.

       The Wildcats will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region two this season. Trinity missed the playoffs the past couple of seasons but hope to return to the post season this year.

       The Wildcats open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent American Christian on Friday, August 24 at Freedom Field. Last year the American Christian Patriots finished with an overall record of 9-4 and in second place in Class 3A region four. The Patriots lost in the quarter-finals round of the Class 3A playoffs to Hillcrest Evergreen by a score of 29-21.

       Trinity and American Christian have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Wildcats have a 0-2-0 record against the Patriots. They last met in with
