Midfield completed the 2017 season with a 4-6 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 3A region four, the Patriots earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Midfield's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Wicksburg by a score of 28-6. Since 2010, Midfield has gone a combined 41-43. Their 49.0% winning percentage ranks 33rd in Class 3A over the past eight seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Midfield has managed to compile a record of 161-111. Their 59.0% winning percentage ranks 14th in Class 3A and 105th in the AHSAA. The Patriots are led by head coach Rod Isaac who is entering his eighth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 39-35 over the past seven seasons at Midfield. Under his direction the Patriots have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times. They have won one region crown with Coach Isaac. Coach Isaac's overall record as a head football coach in seven season stands at 39-35 (52.7%). The Midfield Patriots will play in Class 3A region five during the 2018 season. Following realignment, the Patriots remain in 3A but move from region four over to region five. With a little luck and some improvement, the Patriots could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region five this season. The Patriots open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Tarrant on Friday, August 31 at Winfred E. Jackson Stadium. Last year the Tarrant Wildcats finished with an overall record of 7-3 and in first place in Class 2A region seven. The Wildcats lost in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs to Ranburne by a score of 28-12. Midfield and Tarrant have met a total of 38 times on the football field.
