 2018 Preview 


       Falkville completed the 2017 season with a 7-4 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 2A region seven, the Blue Devils earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Falkville's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Reeltown by a score of 33-13.

       Since 2010, Falkville has gone a combined 40-44. Their 48.0% winning percentage ranks 28th in Class 1A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Falkville has managed to compile a record of 97-153. Their 39.0% winning percentage ranks 41st in Class 1A and 292nd in the AHSAA.




       The Blue Devils are led by head coach Joel Schrenk who is entering his seventh season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 38-26 over the past six seasons at Falkville. Under his direction the Blue Devils have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times. They have won one region crown with Coach Schrenk.

       Coach Schrenk's overall record as a head football coach in six season stands at 38-26 (59.4%).

       The Falkville Blue Devils will play in Class 1A region seven during the 2018 season. The Blue Devils may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 2A to 1A. They will compete in region seven this year.

       The Blue Devils enter the 2018 season riding a 6 game regular season winning streak.

       The Blue Devils should be considered one of the favorites for the region seven championship this season and a home game in the first round of the playoffs.

       The Blue Devils open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Danville on Friday, August 24 at Burl Vest Stadium. Last year the Danville Hawks finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in seventh place in Class 4A region eight. The Hawks ended last season on a positive note with a win over Cold Springs by a score of 21-3 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

       Falkville and Danville have met a total of 49 times on the football field. The Blue Devils have a 21-28-0 record against the Hawks. They last met in 2017 with Danville winning by a score of 28-27.

       Falkville returns 2A All-State  quarterback Aaron Dove. He was named to the honorable mention team last season. The Blue Devils also return  receiver Christian Angulo. He was named to the second team.
