2017 Preview | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Priceville finished the 2016 season with a disappointing 0-10 record. Last year Priceville finished seventh in Class 4A region eight with a 0-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The Bulldogs lost as many games as in any season since 2010. The Bulldogs have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2017. The Bulldogs hope to rebound after a down year. Last season they did not win a game which followed a 8-3 record in 2015. The offense struggled putting points on the score board as Priceville averaged scoring just 13.2 points a game. The Bulldogs also struggled on the defensive side of the football as they found little success in stopping opposing offenses and allowed an average of 47.2 points a game. Since 2010, Priceville has gone a combined 21-50. Their 30.0% winning percentage ranks 51st in Class 4A over the past seven seasons. Over the past 15 seasons, Priceville has not won much with a record of 50-95. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 51st in Class 4A and 328th in the AHSAA. The Bulldogs are led by head coach David Dirk Strunk who is entering his seventh season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 21-40 over the past six seasons at Priceville. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs once. They have won one region crown with Coach Strunk. Coach Strunk's overall record as a head football coach in fifteen season stands at 64-96 (40.0%). Over the course of his career, Coach Strunk's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times and won two region championships. The Priceville Bulldogs will play in Class 4A region eight during the 2017 season. The Bulldogs enter the 2017 season in the middle of a 13 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season. This season, the Bulldogs will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region eight. After not winning a single game last year, the goal at Priceville will be to simply win some games. The Bulldogs open the 2017 season on the road against non-region opponent West Morgan on Friday, September 1 at Rebels Stadium. Last year the West Morgan Rebels finished with an overall record of 7-4 and in fourth place in Class 3A region eight. The Rebels lost in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs to Sylvania by a score of 42-6. Priceville and West Morgan have met a total of 12 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 8-4-0 record against the Rebels. They last met in 2016 with West Morgan winning by a score of 42-21. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
